This project was focused on creating a documentary from scratch.
Starting with finding a topic on what to film and doing the appropriate research, contacting and filming of said topic craeting a professionally created short form documenary.
The Challenge
The challenge in this came with working with a 3rd party that are not privy to technology. Having to walk up to the Blue Light Bar to organise the day and times for the project was a challenge.
Key Challenges
Communication, making sure audio quality was good in an echo-filled room, camera quality was good, and making sure the footage does not get corrupted.
Design Process
Research & Discovery
I began researching on many different topics of interest to create a documenary on. Landing on the Blue Light pub, it stood out to us for a multitude of reasons.
Concept Development
- What is our documentary on?
- Develop interview questions to lead the story.
- Create an in depth plan of action for the day of the shoot.
Refinement & Execution
Testing all the equipment the night before and having a practice run inclded refined our setup time and execution on the day of shooting.
The Finished Product.
The documenary was a success as shooting went smoothly with my question leading the interviewee into a certain direction telling us the beautiful story of the Blue Light Pub.
